Maintenance windows, updates and network faults are part of operations. We therefore design automated workflows so that items are buffered and caught up in the correct order once service is restored.
Retries run with growing intervals. Anything that still cannot be delivered afterwards lands in a list for review and triggers a notification. An item should stand out rather than disappear quietly.
